gives the following information:
Joseph Vallie res. of Cedarville; bn. 28 Feb. 1864 in
Penetingoushone, Canada; emigrated to the US from Sault Ste. Marie,
Canada 30 June. 1900 on the vessel "Chippewa". wife is Agnus Vallie,
bn. 22 Feb. 1865, Penetingoushone, Canada. He gives his age as 57
years. Has the following children:
Edmond, bn. Dec. 10, 1893
Walter, bn. Dec. 9, 1900
Mary, bn. Aug.9, 1899
Elizabeth bn. Oct. 29, 1909
Ernestine, bn. May 20, 1907 Bois Blanc Island.
Witnessed by Charles Weston and Fred E. Izzard both farmers of
Cedarville, Mi.

It is said that Joseph last name was not Valley, but that he had
killed a man in Byng Inlet near Parry Sound, Ontario and fled to
Michigan to escape being jailed. He then changed his name from
Gereau/Giroux/Gerow/Geroux/Gero; or some form of the name.
the 1910 census that Joseph age 40; first appears on in Mackinaw Co.
gives his wife as Mary B...........age 38; mar. 20 yrs. (abt. 1890);
7 children born to mother, 7 children living. The 1920 census gives
his wife as Agnes; age 48 and now Joseph is only age 38 yrs.

4. VALLEE Walter was born on 09 Dec 1900; died on 08 Aug 1955 in Muskegon, Muskegon Co., MI.
5. VALLEE Levina G was born about 1904.
6. VALLEE Ernestine was born on 20 May 1907 in Bois Blanc Island, MI.
7. VALLEE Elizabeth E. was born on 29 Oct 1909.

Notes:

The name of Joseph's parents as given by himself on his marriage
licence to Charlotte (Watchorn) Chedister were Jacob Vallee and
Delfie La Vallier. On Joseph's Social Security Records he lists his
parents as Jacob Vallie and Delphine Vallie.

Renewed wedding vows on 53rd anniversary at Bygn Inlet by Rev. P.
Nadeau, S.I. on Apr. 22, 1889. Newspaper article Vol. XV No. 25,
published on 2 May 1889 The "North Star" of Parry Sound, states that
the couple were the parents of 12 children.

Pierre married St. ONGE Marie Louisa (dit LaTard) on 09 Feb 1836 in Penetanguishene, Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. Marie was born in 1822. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
