Notes:

David moved to Boston when young and according to tradition, worked
on the Constitution when it was being built. He was probably
apprenticed to his maternal grandfather, Nathaniel Perkins of
Ipswich, a shipwright, and learned his trade there. About the time of
his marriage, he took up the business of housewright, which he
continued until his death. David was said to have built many
important buildings and blocks of stores. His death is said to have
been hastened due to anxiety expecting the outcome of an important
contract for building a block of stores on India Street or Wharf.
After his marriage, he lived on Levette Street where his first child
was born. About this time he bought a lot of land on Brooks Street
in Charlestown from Leonard Colburn. On this he built a house,
possibly for a home. On Feb. 10, 1807, he mortgaged this house to his
brother Ebenezer for $1200.00. In 1808 he placed a second mortgage on
the same property in favor of Ebenezer for $500.00 On Sept. 11, 1811
he did something for $2000.00; however the page was torn and we can
not determine what this was. His wife did not join in the deed, but
on Nov. 9, 1829, after her second marriage, she waived her right of
dower for $100.00 in favor of George T. Granger, husband of Lucy
Parsons Pulsifer, daughter of Ebenezer Pulsifer and to Joseph P. and
Ebenezer Pulsifer, sons of Ebenezer.
David moved to Temple Street in 1805 and to Milk Street in 1809 where
he died.

David married PRATT Patty Williams on 06 Oct 1803 in Boston, Suffolk Co., MA. Patty (daughter of PRATT Nehemiah and TORREY Ruth) was born on 27 Nov 1782 in Boston, Suffolk Co., MA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

Patty Williams Pratt was descended from Mathew Pratt who came from
England possibly in 1623 with the Georges Colony and settled at
Wessagussett, now Weymouth.

Notes:

Ebenezer was a member of Capt. Charles Smith's Company Sea Coast
Guards, Ipswich in 1775, Served on the Paul Jones frigate ALERT and
other vessels, last on Letter of Marque Thomas, 20 guns. He was taken
prisoner and died about 1780 on the prison ship in New York harbor
according to family tradition. (See Mass. Archives, Rev. Rolls
XXXVI:241 and Rev. Rolls XLI:95, 97)

Ebenezer married PERKINKS Sarah on 08 Mar 1773 in Ipswich, Essex Co., MA. Sarah (daughter of PERKINKS Nathaniel and HARRIS Anna) was born about 1757 in "of Ipswich" called their nineth child. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

Sarah was a descendant of John Perkins bn. 1590 at Newent, England
John Perkins with his family sailed from Bristol, Eng. Dec. 1, 1630
in the ship LYON, Capt. Wm. Pearce, bound for Boston. the ship
arrived at Nantucket Roads Feb. 5, 1621 and reached Boston the next
day.

Nehemiah married TORREY Ruth. Ruth (daughter of TORREY Jonathan and SMALLPEACE Sarah) was born on 08 Sep 1743 in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., MA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
