He emigrated to the U.S., landing in Phil, PA., in 1856, when he was married June 10, 1867, to Paula Fink (1847-1914), who also was born in Germany. They ha 4 children before settling on the 160 acre homesteading section 21, Forest Township, Rice Co., MN on 1875. Of their 5 children, 3 have passed away. Louise (Mrs. Ervin Keeler), Charlie & Cecilia who were killed in an auto accident in 1952. The 2 still living are Jacob and his wife Anna, on their 80 acre farm adjoining the homestead about 3 miles SE of Millersberg of Fredrich of Faribault. They have 34 grand children and 1 g-grand child living.
