Disputed Parents
Based on a slim piece of documentation, some secondary sources speculate that her father may have been Adelchis I, Count of Parma and Duke of Spoleto, while others dispute this.[4]
Other theories further confuse Engelberga's identity, so ultimately her parentage is still unknown.[5]
Also note that the idea that her mother is Emma Welf, is based on the work of Mathieu (2000), which assumes a strict interpretation of particular words in a certain reference by Emperor Karl II.[6][7]
Engelberga's parents are UNKNOWN.
