| Notes |
- The 'de Carlat' family, perhaps known by the title Vicomte de Carlat were situated in the south of Auvergne in France. Charles Cawley in his Medieval Lands, hasn't found sources that definitely connect all the members of this family, but given the names Girbert and Bernard appear often, it would seem that they are all from the same genealogy.
Girbert is named as Vicomte in a primary source and died before March 1031, when a donation is made by his wife and sons in his memory.[1] He married Agnes (surname unknown) and they had four sons;[1]
Geraud;
Bernard;
Girbert;
Airaud.
