European Aristocracy
Sybille Guiscard was a member of the aristocracy in Europe.
Sybille was the daughter of Robert Guiscard de Hauteville the Duke of Apulia and his wife Sikelgaite.
She was married circa 1080 to Ebles II of Roucy, whose widow she became about 1103.
In 1117 Sybille was noted as the mother of Count Hugues of Roucy to have been present and a consenting party to a local settlement negotiated by Adela of Normandy, the visiting Countess of Blois.
Research notes
As she was apparently a younger daughter a birth estimate near 1065 does not seem unreasonable.
Kimberly LoPrete's biography of Adela of Blois[1] contains mention of the Roucy family allowing for some details of Sybille's life and relationships to be included here.
