Michel will be given into the care of [[Herlin-23|Claude Herlin]] after the death of his father. Suzanne had died giving birth to Michel. [[Joliet-5|Adrien Jolliet]], of the Cap, gave a farming lease (sharecropping) to François Arçonneau, and Suzanne Lecompte, his wife, of his habitation at the Cap, for 3 years (1 November 1665). Notaire Jacques de La Tousche On the 1667 census, he is found in Petit Cap de la Madeleine François Sonneau, 42 ; Michel Sonneau, 30 ; 11 ''arpents'' in value. Note that the census taker erred, Michel would have been 3 months old and not 30 years. François Arsenault died on 10 February 1669 in Cap-de-la-Madeleine. Funeral record cannot be found.
