==Biographie=='' Compagnie Monteil'' Détachée du Régiment de Poitou à bord du Brézé
Cette compagnie du Régiment de Poitou stationnée à Blaye; (33390; Gironde; Aquitaine.) reçut ordre de rejoindre La Rochelle et se mit en route le 20 décembre 1663; elle y arriva début 1664 par la route de Saintes, ou elle y séjourna 1 mois avant d' embarquer. Départ de la Rochelle le 26/02/1664; à bord du Brézé ,
Nouveau bateau de guerre, d'une capacité de plus de 900/1200 tonneaux avec à son bord une partie de l' État-major du Régiment et les 4 compagnies d' infanteries suivantes : Berthier du Régiment L' Allier, La Durantaye du régiment Chambellé, Monteil du régiment Poitou et la Brisardière du régiment Orléans ainsi qu'un détachement de gardes sous le commandement du Chevalier de Chaumont capitaine et aide de camp.
Il avait pris la mer le 26/02/1664 pour Madère, le Cap Vert, Cayenne, Martinique et Guadeloupe. Il repart de la Guadeloupe après sa campagne fructueuse qui était de repousser les Anglais de ces territoires, le 15/04/1665 et se dirige vers l'Isle St-Domingue où il a un travail à effectuer, puis repart de cette Isle le 25/05/1665 et arrive à Gaspé ou Percé le 18/06/1665. Ayant un tirant d'eau trop important, il débarque ses compagnies qui seront envoyés sur Québec à bord de deux petits navires loués par Tracy certainement des navires de pêche qui se trouvaient à cet endroit, puisqu'il est fait mention de ces navires dans les sources "Relation et Registre (nommées ci-haut)". Ils rejoindront Québec le 30 Juin.
Il semblerait que cette compagnie ainsi que les 3 autres arrivées avec Tracy ne comptaient que 35 hommes officiers inclus, soit 1 capitaine, 2 lieutenants, 1 enseigne, 1 sergent et trente soldats, de même les surnoms des soldats auraient été choisis par le capitaine et tous commenceraient par la lette L
Selon le décompte financier de cette compagnie, à son arrivée à Québec elle ne comptait que 32 soldats; puis elle fut complété à 50 en 1666 et il ne restait que 30 soldats lors de son retour en France.

Son surnom de Lapointe et son lieu d’origine nous laissent croire qu’il est venu en 1665 avec la compagnie du sieur Tapie de Monteil au régiment du Poitou. Étaient présents au mariage deux soldats démobilisés de la compagnie Berthier du régiment de l’Allier, rattachCarignan-Salières soit François Couillard et Michel Garon dit Petit Bois, D’ailleurs, ce fut un triple mariage, car ils se sont tous mariés le même jour, agissant comme témoins les uns les autres. Ce n’est que le 10 avril 1673, que le nom de ces deux personnages nous revient en rapport à une chicane de voisin.
À la requête de Pierre Tousignant et Marie Madeleine Philippe, le Conseil souverain condamnait ''Michel Goron dit Petitbois prisonnier, en prison de cette ville défendeur et accusé d’avoir excédé de coups la dite femme à payer la somme de six vingt livres à eux adjugés par provision comprise, à payer en outre ce qui sera due au chirurgien qui a pansé et médicamenté la dite femme''. C’est en 1677 que Pierre Tousignant ira s’installer sur la rive sud, dans le voisinage de Lotbinière.
En 1674, il possédait une terre de trois arpents de front par quarante de profondeur à Grondines, qu’il échange avec François Duclos contre une terre de deux arpent de front par quarante de profondeur située à Batiscan. Ce village est situé sur les bords du Saint-Laurent, à l’embouchure de la rivière Batiscan. Ce nom est d’origine Montagnais et voudrait dire : nuée légère.
Les Jésuites, le 17 septembre 1674, lui remettent le titre de concession d’une terre de deux arpents de front par quarante de profondeur à Batiscan. Trois ans plus tard, il vend ladite terre « Le 11 Octobre 1677, Pierre Tousignant et Madeleine Philippe vendent à Pierre Morand, un jeune Auvergnat qui vient de s’établir à Batiscan, une concession de deux arpents sur quarante avec bâtiments et dépendances, face au grand chemin qui longe le fleuve, pour la somme de 650 livres, payée en castor dès le lendemain, en la maison de François Chorel de Saint-Romain, (Gén. Hist. Grimard). Ils iront s’établir par la suite sur une terre située en la seigneurie de Lotbinière.
Au recensement de 1681, en la seigneurie de Lotbinière Pierre Tousignant est dit âgé de 40 ans, sa femme Madelaine Philippe, 30 ans; ils ont alors 5 enfants: Marguerite, 10 ans; Madelaine, 8 ans; Jean, 5 ans; Michelle, 2 ans; Marie, 6 mois.Le couple possède un fusil, trois barpents de terre en valeur.[Recensements de 1666-1667-1681 en Nouvelle-France, référant au chapitre IV du livre Histoire des Canadiens Français de Benjamin Sulte, compilés par Jean-Guy Sénécal le 17 mars 1998]
Le 13 novembre 1686, le Sieur René Louis Chartier de Lotbinière lui concède une terre de quatre arpents sur trente en ladite seigneurie de Lotbinière, par devant Sieur Pierre Duquet de la Chenaye. De 1687 à 1714, plusieurs engagements, obligations et quittances seront contractés en son nom et celui de son épouse. Le 31 mai 1714, avec l’assentiment de sa femme, ils font don de leur terre à leur fils Jean, à condition qu’il paie 150 livres qu’ils doivent à certains particuliers et qu’il prenne soin d’eux jusqu’à leur décès. Pierre Tousignant dit Lapointe décède après la donation de sa terre en date du 31 mai 1714 à la Neuville.
Marie Madeleine Philippe décède le 9 janvier 1724, à l’âge de 73 ans à Lotbinière.

On board was part of the General Staff of the Regiment and the following 4 infantry companies: Berthier of the L 'Allier Regiment, La Durantaye of the Chambellé Regiment , Monteil of the Poitou Regiment and la Brisardière of the Orléans Regiment as well as a detachment of guards under the command of the Chevalier de Chaumont, captain and aide-de-camp.
He set sail on 02/26/1664 for Madeira, Cape Verde, Cayenne, Martinique and Guadeloupe. He left Guadeloupe after his successful campaign which was to push the English back from these territories, on 04/15/1665 and headed for Isle St-Domingue where he had work to do, then left this Isle on 05/25/1665 and arrived in Gaspé or Percé on 06/18/1665. Being too overloaded, he unloaded his companies which were sent to Quebec aboard two small vessels rented by Tracy, certainly fishing vessels which were there, since these vessels are mentioned in the sources "Relation and Register (named above)". They will join Quebec on June 30.
It would seem that this company as well as the 3 other arrivals with Tracy had only 35 men officers included, that is to say 1 captain, 2 lieutenants, 1 ensign, 1 sergeant and 30 soldiers, even the nicknames of the soldiers were chosen by the captain and all would start with the letter L.
According to the financial statement of this company, on its arrival in Quebec it had only 32 soldiers; then it was filled to 50 in 1666 and there were only 30 soldiers left when he returned to France.

His dit name Lapointe and his place of origin lead us to believe that he came in 1665 with the company of Sieur Tapie de Monteil to the Poitou Regiment. In 1674, he owned land three arpents (1 arpent=about 1 acre) frontally by forty deep at Grondines, which he traded with François Duclos for land two arpents frontally by forty deep located at Batiscan. This village is located on the banks of the St. Lawrence, at the mouth of the Batiscan River. This name is of Montagnais origin and would mean: light cloud.

On November 13, 1686, Sir René Louis Chartier de Lotbinière granted him a land of four out of thirty arpents in the said seigneury of Lotbinière, in front of Sir Pierre Duquet de la Chenaye. From 1687 to 1714, several commitments, obligations and receipts will be contracted in his name and that of his wife. On May 31, 1714, with the consent of his wife, they gift their land to their son Jean, on condition that he pays 150 pounds which they owe to certain individuals and that he takes care of them until upon their death. Pierre Tousignant dit Lapointe died after the gifting of his land on May 31, 1714 at Neuville.
