    Notes
    • Origine

      Biography
      Origins
Françoise Nicole de Beauvais, born before 1520,[1] was the daughter of François de Beauvais, lord of Autruche (a fief in Le Chesne, formerly Le Chesne-le-Populeux or Le Chesne-le-Pouilleux, a village in the area of Vouziers, in Argonne, now the Ardennes departement). The name of her mother is unknown.[2]

      Marriage and Children
She married François de Joyeuse, who had previously been married once.[2] They had one child:

Jean de Joyeuse, lord of Champigneulle, married Nicole des Ancherins in January 1563.[2]
      Research Notes
Research for the origins of father François de Beauvais, Seigneur d'Autruche

The earliest record available for any Seigneur d'Autruche is the for Didier de Beauvais, named Seigneur d'Autruche in 1520.[1]

Further clarification of the lines of the Seigneur d'Autruche is made in a marriage contract dated 9 Oct 1536, Louis Martinet et Person Martinet, notaires:

"Contract of marriage between Mr. Adrien de Chartogne, son of the noble gentleman Laurent de Chartogne, esquire, lord of la Folie les Bretoncourt and of Ecordal in part, as assisted by Jean de Vaulx, esquire, lord of Ecordal in part, Gruyer de Rethelois, Christophe de Vaulx, esquire, lord in the same location, Etienne de Saint-Quentin, esquire, lord of Chevrieres, Jean de Saint-Quentin, esquire, lord of Resson, Nicolas de Saint-Quentin, esquire, lord of the Petites Ayvelles, all being relatives and friends of the man to be married, on the one hand.
And Marie de Beauvais, daughter of mistress Alix de Chappy, widow of Didier de Beauvais, as assisted by the venerable et religieus person the lord Christophe de Beauvais, lord of Beauvais, brother of the woman to be married, and by Jean de Beauvais, capitain of Buzancy, prevost of Chepy, et Francois de Pouilly, squire, her uncles, on the other hand."
Unfortunately no other documentation has presented itself naming François, but it is possible that François could have been the father of Didier and Jean de Beauvais (representing the N. de Beauvais in Pellot) and he died early in his life.[3]
