===Death===
He passed away about 1343.
===Research Notes===
The proof of Marguerite d'Argenteuil's parentage lies with the inheritance of her daughter, Isabeau de Maligny. In Isabeau's inheritance from her mother, she is left "The upper, middle and lower justice of the land of Beugnon" as well as "The squares and hovels of Jully, where one should have a strong house there, together the mote closed with ditches".
Jean d'Argenteuil was granted by King Philippe VI of France "the land of Courcelles, near Beugnon and Saint- Florentin, from the lord of Jully, deceased" which was "the house and land that the lord jadix of Juilly had at Courcelles, near Saint-Florentin".
The fact that Jean d'Argenteuil held the same lands that Isabeau de Maligny inherited from her mother, Marguerite, proves that Jean was her grandfather and Marguerite's father.
